Berlin is not only the capital city of Germany, but it is also the capital of entertainment and culture. Cosmopolitan metropolis enchants with architectonic diversity and ensures cultural and sporting attractions for tourists from all over the world.
It is the biggest after London and Paris city in the EU, located only 70 km from the border with Poland. Berlin is rich in historical buildings, museums, castles, sacral buildings, squares and shopping centers present in so high numbers that a weekend trip may be too short to thoroughly see the city.
Most of the tourist attractions of Berlin is located in Mitte District, at Unter den Linden, between the Brandenburg Gate and the Isle of Museums.

Slightly south of the area there is Potsdamer Platz with numerous historical objects and Kulturforum, a complex of museum.

To the west, there is a central shopping area Kurfurstendamm (also known as Ku'damm) and famous Zoo Station (Zoo Bahnhof). During a stay in Berlin, you surely must not overlook most characteristic landmarks, i.e. Brandenburg Gate, TV tower at Alexanderplatz, Reichstag or Charlottenburg Palace.

The amateurs of culture should plan the visit on popular Isle of Museum that is located between Spree River and Kupfergraben. This is a complex of five museums inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.


The capital city of Germany is perfect place for organizing large scale international events. It organizes, among others fairs (International Tourist Fair, Air Industry Fair, Electronic Fair), parades, film festivals (Berlinale) and sport events, e.g., famous 6-day run Sechs-Tage-Rannen, women tennis tournament "German Open" or Internationales Stadionfest (ISTAF).
